Two levels and 16,000 SF in uptown Phoenix — stripped to its essence. Sandblasted block, exposed concrete double-tees, and wood and steel joists, then sheltered by a perforated metal canopy and second skin. Like a palo verde acting as nurse tree to a young saguaro, the new skin shades the old building from the desert sun while creating dynamic exterior rooms.
